Water = Essential for life.
Water is essential for many vital processes; It regulates body temperature, contributes to eliminating toxins, enables the body to absorb nutrients during digestion and keeps our skins elasticity and healthy glow. Water makes up 70% of the human body so an intake of water is essential – especially during hot weather!

Our top tips for summer skin bought to you by Evie, Chakra Spa’s assistant spa manager.

Always double cleanse, especially during the summer months it is crucial to cleanse your face twice a day to remove dirt/sun cream and oil build up from daily activities. Double cleansing reduces clogged pores and breakouts leaving the skin smooth.

Exfoliate – in summer extra oil and dirt is secreted from the skin, exfoliation removes these dead skin cells and avoids build up – we recommend exfoliating once or twice weekly for radiant summer skin. Remember to exfoliate the body as well as the face!

Complete with a moisturiser, although your skin may not feel dry or rough in the summer it is important to switch to a lightweight moisturiser to ensure you are keeping consistent with daily wear.

Hydration – the skin often becomes dehydrated in summer months – it is important to consume 6-8 glasses of water a day to ensure you are hydrated from within to help with plump glowing skin.

Always apply a SPF – a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30+ is recommended during skin exposure to the sun. Apply this as your last skin care step in the morning every day and re-apply throughout the day. Don’t forget to apply it all over the body and face to avoid burning

My favorite products recommended for summer skin.

Provides 24-hour double hydration by reducing water evaporation and instead optimizes water distribution across the skin with the help of hyaluronic acid to leave skin plump and smooth. Rich in moringa oil, Omega 3 and Vitamin E for hydration and rich in antioxidant.

Natural silica and orange peel particles provide a mechanical scrub to remove dry dead skin cells and ensures the skin immediately looks smoother, softer and brighter. For all skin types, use weekly to prepare the skin for sun exposer and after the holidays to maintain the skin’s softness.

There’s not a lot you need to take with you on your spa day, but a few essentials will help you to make the most the day, make you feel comfortable and allow total relaxation.

When it comes to your spa day experience with us we provide Towels, Robes and toiletries in the changing rooms so here’s what you need to bring:

  1. Wear something comfortable to arrive in, and to leave in, if you would prefer to get changed for lunch however we do allow you to dine in your gown!

  2. Bring two swimming costumes – one for using the wet facilities and one to have your treatment in, this way you do not have to lay in a wet cozzy.

  3. Bring a pair of flip flops.

  4. If you’re staying overnight, bring a small bag that you can bring into the spa with any bits and pieces such as a book, hairbrush etc so you don’t have to keep returning to your room.

  5. Bring a magazine or your favourite book for a good lounging session!
